Which Korn track is hardest to play?

Sign in to disble this ad
Looking for a bit of a challenge to add to my covers playlist on youtube. i have always liked Korn respected Fieldys playing ability but for some stupid reason never played any of there tracks. which one would be the biggest challenge?

(yes i am aware 3/4 of all bass players hate his tone)

The solo thing he does at the start of 'got the life' (I'm pretty sure that's the track) has always thrown me for a loop. Granted, I never really tried particularly hard to learn it, but still.

i think he's asking if you're just trolling / looking to get a rise out of the large amount of people on this forum that loathe Fieldy

Why ask us which is the hardest? What is the hardest for me may not be the hardest for you. Pick a song you like and learn it. If it's not a challenge, try another.

Love this thread.

Here's the deal dude-

Not only will you find that most people on here don't like Fieldy, but if they are like myself, consider him to be perhaps the worst professional musician that has ever lived. He's also an absolute moron. I've met the dude, and he's dumb as hell...like scary dumb.

However, to each his own... judging by your playing, you have a unique perspective. good job on that

nah... i am no troll, when i was a kid i idolised his playing before i knew what it was, out playing him has been on my list of things to do since i started playing. so i figured i would find the popular vote on which track is toughest and cover it!

wow that's some serious hating! to each there own. as far as the worst pro musician that has ever lived.... the fact that so many people are discussing him is even now is a good argument against that. as far as intelligence goes, who cares. he has built a career around playing and image as far as i am concerned the rest does not exist.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, it is really appreciated. i have been hacked apart by trolls everywhere else.

i have heard his tone jokingly called "hitting a bass against a chain link fence" backstage. like him or not, he does have a unique style. i used to play their cover songs in bars, "need to" i thought was a cool slap riff. johnny a. staind

None of them, korn is horrible!

Listen to Divine Heresy. Much better 8 string guitar playing, Korn just sounds bad to me.

I'm not particularly a Korn fan ( though I think their first album is great), but I have also met Fieldy several times. He didn't come off as particularly stupid to me and he was always one hell of a nice and gracious guy.

Maybe you guys could recommend a bassist to Korn that is more suited to them?

It's not really a tough song to play, but "Swallow" off of Life Is Peachy is a really sweet bass lick.

"No Place To Hide" off that same album would be cool to cover as well.

unfortunately when people meet us rockstars for 10 minutes they think they know us lol. i am not always all kinds of friendly when i meet people. it depends what mood i am in just like normal people. i toured with korn and he was not friendly to me, but he was not a jerk either. my favorite fieldy moment was when he walked onstage during our soundcheck on the second day of the tour. walked in front of my amps, faced them, stood there for 25 seconds, then walked off while the song was still going. on day 3 a truck pulled up full of new ampeg bass amplifiers and speakers just like mine he still never said a word to me the whole tour lol. on the last day of the tour he nodded at me as i walked by in the hallway, and i nodded back and kept walkin. johnny a. staind
