Hey guys with the popularity of the Mike Dirnt thread, i'd thought i would make a Krist Novoselic thread....
so what does everyone think of Krist? or atleast thought of Krist?
Most of you remember the early 90's when Nirvana were in their prime... what does everyone think of his style, tone, and playing?

Six foot seven, IIRC.
Good live performer, great, in-the-pocket playing, nice tone.
-thumbs up-

I love Nirvana myself, so I'd say Krist is OK. Just OK.

He did some nice basslines from time to time, Lithium is one that springs to mind in which he wasn't just playing the root. Lounge Act was a pretty cool one too.

His bass lines are what made Nirvana what it was more than almost anything else besides Cobain's voice.
Why the use of the past tense by the topic poster? Is he dead now? |

Cobain was why I started playing guitar. that said, I always liked the bass line in Lithium for the descending scale. I hadn't really paid that much attention to his playing much though, but i feel that he was in the perfect spot playing bass for Nirvana, and was great at what he did.
Plus he was pretty silly sometimes, hah and I liked his T-Bird

Bass playing skill...not the best. Fit Nirvana perfectly, though. If they had more bassist than him, it wouldn't have worked out. |

The first few notes of Blew or Lounge Act still make me want to grab my bass and play along.
