I don't know if it was the sound man or what, but Verdine was pretty much inaudible during that jam. Both myself and my buddy Slang couldn't hear a note of his playing.
The valuable lesson I learned from seeing LG perform was I pity anyone who has to share a stage with him because they're going to get smoked!! |

I was dissappointed to learn he doesn't play at EW&F shows. From what I understand, they basically dance to tracks. I'd be happy with him standing still and playing the bass any day. Watching him dance to recorded tracks... nah. He does have some moves for a guy who's no spring chicken though. |

Too bad, they are no longer carried by GC, and too bad their prices have gone sky high! In the latest BP, I saw that the street price on one of the Robert Trujillo Sigs is $9,000, with a 35% mark down for the street price, that is still $5,850! That is Fodera or at least MTD money!

| | | That was a great day. I was down from Toronto on business, and came down a day early for BP Live.
Wandering through the vendor area, I had to be careful about what lines I played, 'cause the guy who wrote it could be walking by. Best clinic (for me) goes to Abe Laboriel. Groove, musicality, humility.
The Larry Graham segment was the concert highlight, I was struck by how much the sound of Prince lived in it. Or to say it another way, I think that Prince might owe him a thanks or two. js |

Just check out the clothes LG wore in the Seventies like high neck ruffled shirts, and then see what Prince wore in the 1980s.

I missed the concert but seeing the jam between him and Marcus Sunday was incredible. Any more funk and I probably would have spontaniously combusted. It was HOT!! |

| | | | I had the blessing to hear EWF's 40th anniversary performance in Las Vegas last year.Front row seating..Verdine White played every song live..I was there for sound check as well.I'm aware that Louis Satterfield played bass on many EWF productions (Emotions) come to mind, whoever laid the tracks..I take my hat off to them....Verdine is a great spirit who happens to play bass...I love what he brings. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
