I think he was at his peak during the GCS years.

I'm with you there......
maybe because his playing matured, or he felt free-er

Hair is easily my favorite GCS tune - I've been trying to get that intro for years....., but The Jam is MY JAM.... Everytime I hear that one, I magine being in a group and I'm the one that goes around and plays all the instrument solo's on each instrument..... including the one by the female in the group that played on the FK1 Windvox or something like that and her solo had that machine gun sound in the middle..... I gotta go find my fro wig for that one!!!
I also likee the way that Larry sung bass. Hap E 2 C U A Gain, baw baw baw.... Hap E Cuz U R My Friend , baw baw baw.... Haven't seen you in a long long time (Schoo Bee Doo) Hap E that U'r Doin' Fine!! I LOVE that little Ditty!

If Hendrix were a bass player, I'd think he'd sound like Larry Graham.....listen to The Jam and you'll see what I'm talking about. |

(I sang bass in HS & College Choruses) But the cover of the album.... the whole swooning tune.... I think to myself.... "That man can litearally make cabinets walk across a stage.... why is he doing this to me!!!???"
Cai't blame a Brotha for needing to get paid... we all gots to eat sum how!!
