'Later' with Jools - Who Are They?

I watch 'Later' when I can and notice some notable bassists appear although not named at all.

Pino was backing one artist on one show and Paul Simon was backed by Steve Gadd and a bassist I didn't recognise playing a single cutaway chunk of wood - he didn't sound like the 'Graceland' bassist but does anyone know who he was?

Dave Gilmour was with Guy Pratt too.

How do I find out who the bass players are?

You just have to know - I've seen the great Danny Thompson a few times on 'Later'- sometimes they credit the bassist, others they don't !
