Lead guitarist plays MY bass!

We are covering 'Clocks' by Coldplay and "You say it best when you say nothing at all" by Ronan Keating. I'm the only one in our band of non-keyboard players that can just about manage the piano parts. As such the lead guitarist is playing MY bass

I knew you guys would understand.

Transpose the piano parts to bass.

I'd hate to say it, but it's totally on you bro.

Whenever you suspect that the lead guitarist will play your bass, bring a really cruddy one with high action.

Make sure to wipe it down afterwards. It will probably have inflated sense of self-importance all over it.

I've had that arrive a few times due to being the only one who could play keys, but it was the rythmn player that took on the bass duties.

Needless to say, he was pretty horrible the first few times. It was still horrible seeing my bass in the hands of a g****r player afterwards though

While that sucks, it would be much, much worse if you had someone who couldn't play keys at all trying to.

Wait a minute, it can't get worse! You're covering Coldplay.
You guys are screwed, I'm sorry. I can understand the appeal of wanting to nail some liberal-arts chicks, but Coldplay?!

Have you ever heard your lead guitar player play bass? The guitar player that I play with in everything is a pretty good bassist. This might be also becasue he is a drummer and understands the groove. Other times at a practice one of the guitar players tried to do his " Flea impersonation" and slap .....didnt work out to well. I never really understand the hate against guitar players here but whoever plays my bass...never sounds quite right to me.

yeah, but the arrangement might need both bass and keyboards, and I'm guessing the chap can't do both at once.
