Come on don't be shy.

How many of you brave souls out there decided to say..."You know what? I am not going to pay extra money for a lefty bass, I am gonna suck it up and deal!" ?

Stand up and be counted brothers!!!!!!!!

I play a right handed bass flipped over. That's how I've played guitar for years so did the same on bass.

This doesn't really count my best friend, the best guitar player I know, is a lefty who plays right-handed.

I do. I have cerebral palsy which affects my right side more than my left side. so when my parents went guitar shopping years ago they got me a right handed guitar thinking that I'd have an easier time fretting with my left hand since it is my better hand.

Personally, although they call the technique "right" handed, I feel I still play "left" handed. IMO the fretting fingers do more work, and you don't even need the right if you can tap. Which I can. I think if I bought a "lefty" bass my playing would've been crap too, as my right hand is nowhere near as strong. Not to mention it's much cheaper to find a bass, especially since I can only afford used gear.

A search might show this has been asked a few dozen times. That said, lefty/play righty.

I do, it was out of necessity because all my friends when I started bass were right handed so I played their guitars/basses. My teacher he is left handed and plays left was surprised on our first lesson

I do this, it just felt more natural for me to play righty

Plus it puts my dominant hand on the fretboard, works out for me.

I am a lefty, but I always felt playing righty was far more comfortable.

I feel that we are in sort of a strange position because A. I am drunk and B. The dominant hand seems to have a lot more dexterity on the fretboard. I tell you though...I am having trouble mastering the wooten thumb stuff. I think it is because my right hand is sling blade compared to my left haha.

Im included. Actually writing and throwing is about the only thing I do left handed. I guess watching others to learn caused me to learn the right handed way of most things.
