AND I totally thought that he has Ampeg SVT's as his heads NOT 5 pro's (Whatever) ... BTW, you forgot the J-Bass that he plays in the "Beaver" video, it is different than the one he plays with "Sausage." Cheers!

| | Son, I am disappoint. | | Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Gig Harbor, Washington | | | He used Mesa Bass 400+'s and mesa cabs in primus (he also switched while in primus), he switched to SVT-3's at a show while trying out some Ampegs at a booth.
Now he uses other things, he still uses ampeg pro series cabs but he uses a pre/power setup apparently as seen in the Anthony Jackson issue of BP.

| | | This is Claypool' s pedalboard. Pic is taken in March 2009. It is a really dark pic. I can see - from left to right -
Line6 DL4 Modeling Delay
Boomerang Phrase Sampler
Line 6 DM4 Distortion Modeler
TU-2 Chromatic Tuner
MXR M80 Bass D.I.+ (maybe two?)
There are 6 or 7 more on this board, but i` ve never seen those before in my life.
The MIDI foot controller looks ugly. Is that really a MIDI foot controller?
Somebody with GIMP or PHOTOSHOP on his PC maybe could clear up the pic. |

at first i though that maybe it has gotten some sort of general overhaul but now i'm not sure anymore...
the walnut has more figure to it and looks very fresh and not shiny.
but we all know the lighting could deceive us, so...

Few videos of Carl Thompson making the bass in question. It's brand new!

Plus the most obvious part that isn't the same is the non Geddy Lee signed headstock. Different bass. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
