| | | | No :/. No Primus yet. Les said 2010 will be a Primus year, so here's to that being true. This is probably going to be his official tour to promote his new album; the last tour was a 20 day tour that really didn't do much besides play two or three tracks off the new album. |

I have to miss him this year because the tickets are like $40 with all the stupid fees. He has that jewish rapper fellow with him. No thanks. I have only missed him a couple of years since Lallapalooza in '93!

| | | | Joeinsprings-
that's good to hear man, I've heard very positive things about Yard Dogs and am pretty anxious for this show. We've got a huge group going, with many Les first timers. It'll be a real treat for them. |

Les rocked the house!!!! The stacks of PA speakers on either side of the stage were swaying like crazy throughout the whole show!! Great sound and Les just jammed for a while towards the end which was great to hear. My wife, who was not much of a Claypool/Primus fan at all, went with me to the show and she now has a whole new respect for Les' music after hearing it live. That man knows how to put on a great show. He played 2 different CT basses, an electric double bass, and his 4 string banjo bass during the show. Very small venue and the setting was great. Just wanted to share.
Cheers,
Zach

Cheers,

| | | | So here's a thing I posted about The Warfield show in SF on the bullboard...
Ah man what a show. Favorite Les show I've seen so far. So much energy, great set, and just awesome. If anyone remembers, I posted that Primus Drumline Show thread here a little while ago on the Primus forum. A lot of people who were in it came to Claypool, we had about a 15 people group on the front rail. That will come into the story later.
The setlist went like this:
-Buzzards Of Green Hill/Buzzards Reprise
-Amanitas
-David Makalaster I
-Southbound Pachyderm
-David Makalaster II
-Red State Girl
-Precipitation (During Precipitation, Les stopped playing, and stared right at me and my two other friends right in front of him on the rail. We had three signs and he pointed at us to show him the signs. Signsread "Hey Les" "Watch our Primus Drumline Show" "Youtube". He read them, nodded his head, and went back to the song. So sick.)
-Drums/Whamola with a very fast mushroom men tease (pretty length drum battle)
-Booneville Stomp
-Thela (Eenor came out and guested, they were have loads of fun. Les invited Eenor to sing alongside him. Les on the bullet mic, Eenor on the regular.)
-Sir George Martin
-Rumble Of The Diesel (toys go winding down tease)
Encore:
-American Life
-One Better>We Supply (Stanley Clarke)>The Jam (Larry Graham)>Tommy The Cat>One Better
Feel free to add anything to the setlist. Did anyone see a taper?
Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot. I got Mike D's set list. I was originally gonna get Les's set list, Derek handed it right to me pointing at me, and some douche from the side yanks it out of my hand. Whatever. He turned around and got Mike D's set list and made literally everyone back off so he could hand it to me. Thank you.
After the show we waited out back and got to talk to Mike D, got him to sign the set list, and he was like "oh you guys were with that Primus drumline show weren't you?" and told us how he used to be in drumline back in high school. Pretty cool. Sam Bass ran past everyone standing outside, got in a cab and drove off. Eenor was really nice and fun to talk to. Got him to sign the Thela on my set list. Les hadn't come out when we had to go, maybe next time. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
