Died today of complications from pneumonia. Inventor of the electric guitar and multitrack recording. He was 94. There's no denying his contributions to modern music. RIP.

Wow. That's very sad. What a great innovator. He was also an excellent guitarist.

A self taught innovator in the vein of Edison, the Daddy of solid body guitars and recorded music as we know it is gone.
Thankfully he had a long and fruitful life.
Rest in Peace Mr. Polfus.

I know he lived a long life, but still...

Dammit. I kept telling myself to go hear him play, and I never did. Stupid me. Sorry Les. RIP.

Without Les Paul, popular music - especially rock and roll - would be very different.

I will go home and break out my 81 Les Paul Standard and pay tribute to him.. although, it may not be much of a tribute with me playing. Either way.. a great inventor, guitarist.. Legend.
R.I.P Les.
