Tomorrow i have a private one on one with Janek what should I expect ?
Should I ask for anything in specific from the lesson what could I best learn with just an hour of his time ?

If any one else could chip in about lessons they have had with any "big name" players and how it went that could be usefull aswell give me some ideas thanks!!

I had a lesson with Jimmy Haslip a couple of years ago and it was great. You really need to architect the outline of the lesson beforehand. He won't know anything about you, so giving him something to work with right away would be helpful.

When I took the lesson with Haslip, I brought in a chart and recording of an original tune with no bass on it. It was fun watching Jimmy's spontaneous approach to my tune. We talked about some very specific things regarding chords and bass solos as well as the reality of recording sessions. He had some great stories.

Janek's a wicked guy. Tell him I said hi.

Last year, I had a lesson with Chris Tarry, and it was a lot of fun. I'm not much of a jazz player, but we worked on solo ideas for almost the whole hour. It was great seeing what he thinks of when it comes to phrasing and melodic ideas.

I've also studied with Rich Brown for an entire year and that was absolutely wicked.
