Looking for bassist from Southern Maine - Massachusetts

I don't actually play the bass, I am a 20 year old guitarist who's in search of a talented bassist. Now, before you begin to judge me based on my age, I feel it would only be fair, for those interested, to listen to me play the guitar to really understand how "old" I am. I've been trying to start a band but living in Maine doesn't really provide one with many talented musicians. I'd like to start a Progressive/Melodic Punk Rock band, but ultimately willing to play anything that sounds good. I'm an aspiring musician with a lot of passion for music and its industry, and am looking to make it all the way (or at least give it a shot). I am very serious about this and I've decided to devote everything I have for music. So, for my sake and time, serious bassists only.

Portland has one of the best music scenes around--lots of places to play, tons of great bands (Marie Stella, Sam James, Dead Man's Clothes, HUAK, and the greatest rock band of all time, The Pontiffs). Hang in there, you're bound to find something.

+1.

The one thing Portland doesn't have is an easy way to get into the know unless you're already in it...

But, assuming you live there or right around the area, that's a problem that's easily fixed.
