This is proof of the value of production. LJ solo tone is very bright, but cleanly played. Production gave the bass much more warmth.

Cool to hear it solo'd. Unfortunately, it is also the ONLY song on the entire Off The Wall album I awlays skip (and I've LOVED that album since I bought it in the 70s) - can't stand that song!

But love me some Louis Johnson.

I second to that! I've found the tone a bit bright also! I've compare the solo track with the album version, and I realised how all this prod what's great, from playing to mixing, to mastering!!!

But the playing is soo clean and moody! It's all groovy and tasty!! Any way, was fun listening, thank for your input!

Jamie must be thinking about "Girlfriend," a Macca song on Off the Wall.

that was interesting to listen to. string buzz, some slight scuffs, a couple of rushed figures - imperfect and human. But it sounds great in the song.

It's encouraging to me.

Yup - Jamie was confused

It is Girlfriend that I cannot stomach in ANY way....though the Girl is Mine off Thriller also makes me cringe - guess I'm not a fan of Macca and MJ together (though I dig them both separately)
