As an inspired bassist, I have a deep love from the sound of Flea in RHCP. He's really inspired me as a bassist and as a comedian.
Express your love here. |

My favourite bassist.
I think his bass lines were more inventive/funky in earlier rhcp albums though. |

I mean his playing in the Peppers is great and all, but this stuff here is what it's all about!!
In all seriousness, the RHCP were a big influence for me growing up, and Flea was one of the reasons I put so much time into the bass when I was younger, and before I really knew of any other bass players... |

I actually play Flea's "Pea" on some gigs as tribute to him.
He's freakin' amazing.

| | | | Space Cadette. Seems to be THE bassist if your into finger style rock/funk.(I'm not) Someone bought me the last RHCP album and I haven't listened to it once. Saw them live. Thought they sucked ass. not tight, awful guitarist, lame gay junkie lead singer. Chad and Flea are moderately entertaining, but when he got the trumpet out i wanted to kill him after 2 minutes of playing....
Sorry, just realized this was a love thread...(they say it's a fine line) |

I started learning bass because of his lines. I have moved on from there, but I still hold the man in very high regard. |

He's the reason many picked up the bass, and he's the most visible player in populist music today. Can't take anything away from the guy, he broke my cherry for slap back on Uplift Mofo Party Plan....and all the RHCP albums are incredible pop music. They seem to just get bigger with each record which is a major feat considering the success of Blood Sugar Sex Majic. And they are publically all about peace and love, not money and ho's like everybody else...... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
