Best Slap Bassists - Top Ten List

not only do i disagree with rating bassists as "best" or "worst" but reading the comments but flea at number 1 with comments saying
"He is the best ever. No matter who may come... flea will be remembered as the best bassist ever. He created the real way how to play bass."
this is rather depressing

and no louis johnson, bootsy or larry graham? instead they put geddy lee at 5 when he doesnt even slap.

Plus Buckethead is on the list...

These things are never worth paying attention to. They're made by uninformed little kids

Fieldy. Haha. Fieldy doesn't play bass. He swats at bungee chords loosely attached to a slab of wood.

This should be in the "bass humor" thread. It's obviously a joke.

Oh and a best slap bassists list without Larry Graham at #1 is automatically invalid

1st off I do not slap because I suck at it. I do admire and marvel at some of the slap bassist out there. So take what I say with a grain of salt. This list sucks. Flea & les are incredible but the top of this list I don't know. People also seem to confuse funk (a genre) with slap (a style). The can go togethet but not always. I'll bet if this list were made by bassist who practice and incorporate this style it would be completely different. Sorry for the rant, I hate best of lists.

this list reads like it was done by either a 14 year old or morning radio morons. if the world functioned like facebook, i'd hit the "ignore" button on this one.

I agree, this list is a joke, however, Geddy did slap once..... So Take off you hoser's

Roll the Bones at the break.... I believe Geddy was later quoted as saying he would never publicly embarass himself that way ever again. He actually did ok, but yet another reason to love the guy
