Marc Brownstien, bassist for the disco biscuits is, in my opinion, one of the best bass players out right now. The guy holds down a solid groove at all times, with so many harmonic highlights its unbeliveable. Whats your guys feelig on his style.

I wouldnt go as far as to say hes one of the best, but he does pull out random techy stuff here and there at the shows. I love the disco biscuits besides the new stuff that they put out on the ep, he always does blow me away with his galloping plucking and always getting you head to bounce off your body

Been a long time fan and it would be amiss to say that he hasn't been a significant influence on my playing learning how to HOLD IT DOWN. Where does this guys tone come from? Is the elrick, ampeg, or tone shaping pedals? Any insight?

Marn sounds like Marn all the time no matter what he plays. When I saw Umphrey's and Bisco on the DUMB tour in 07, the biscuits came out and played a song on UM's gear for the setbreak. He sounded the same on Ryan's 55-94 as he did on his Elrick. I think its just a combo of plucking kind of hard and active pickups.

long time phan for tDB and he isnt the best player as far as technical skills or even really good songs but hes really good at leading the band through the jams keeping the lines interesting (but ussually not too complex). hes got good solid grooves and locks in with allen (drums) so it may not be the most difficult music, but the way the jams progress and the different lines mix and layer and the way he feeds off the other lines of the band is fantastic.

imo
