Hey guys,

Posting to inform you that earlier today Marcel Jacob of Talisman passed away.

I may not of been around when the band was formed but they were quite a big thing for me when I was getting into the hard rock scene.

I'll link a post from Jeff Scott Soto's site that gives a bit more information about the ordeal, and wish the very best to all his family and friends.

I am so shocked to hear that!

Marcel Jacob was FANTASTIC! He was extremely talented and played for many years with some top notch artists.

Gonna miss him for sure.

May God comfort his family...they need lots of support at this time.

Heared about this last week, sad news indeed.
Marcel Jacob was not really well-known and quite underrated IMO. Superb Rockplayer with an extremely good picking technique, but I'm sure he had other styles down as well.
I got some of the first Talisman CDs and they seriously rock.
Sad, sad, sad.

Yngwie's coolest lineup was with Marcel and Jeff SS. RIP for sure. Great pick player!

Big plus on both counts; I had no idea how good Marcel Jacob was until I watched that tribute video on Jeff Scott Soto's website.

I knew his playing from the 80's: I had Yngwie's "Marching Out", which by the way is IMO his best overall work.
