It was (Marcus) Miller time!

So we had Marcus Miller here yesterday . Wow. The sound was great - whereas the shows and the soundmen here are known for bad sound and distortion, and low bass volume. But not here - the highs were clear (but the low notes were a bit distorted, though: they sounded like fart...) and the slap-sound was great. Marcus was quite funny - he was making jokes with the others. Yet the others were not all that happy - Poogie was a bit like jealous or upset or something
The songs were quite unlike the ones on the albums (in fact none of them was like the original): like they started in one, then a solo that was different and it ended in another song... I missed some songs, though. There was just like 10 seconds of the intro of Power, then it went back into the original song, then a solo, another solo, then another song,... Scoop wasnt even there, but it is another of my favourites.
But it was cool.
Oh and he brought a couple of basses: a Fodera 5, the MM sig. 5, but he only played the MMS 4 - why did he bring them then? why not give them to me???

Hey, great to hear you had a good time. I love Marcus Miller. I have a 95 minute video of him live at the Montreaux Jazz Festival, although its not the same as seeing him live, it kicked major butt nonetheless...except for the fact that I couldn't skip forward(had to sit in front of the computer for 95 minutes straight..I accidentally stopped it a couple of times and the computer froze a few times as well so I had to watch it over and over again)

Anyways glad that you had a blast..in that video he only used his MM4 sig although he switched to a white one after awhile.

I saw Marcus in July. They had a rocking setlist with lots of songs from The Sun Don't Lie (featuring one of my favorites: Scoop) and the Hendricks cover Purple Haze sounded phenomenal. The soundman did great job really pushing the most out of the PA. Here's one of the pics I took:
