He was a monstrous bass player in his teens, because I was 16 or 17 when I first started listening to him. Flora Purim was one of the 1st I think.
Anyway, I pray to God that he will recover quickly along with his band. Prayers also to those who were lost.
Jim D | I'm pretty sure you weren't hearing Marcus Miller on any recordings until 1978 or 1979. Regardless of when you heard him, I am glad that he is still alive and AFAIK, he can still play. We are all delicate and death is never far away!

I heard an hour interview with him on XM radio a while back and it was fascinating listening to him telling of his life as a bass player. He sounds like an incredibly cool guy as well as a great musician.

Louis is a magnificent drummer and a beautiful guy, I love playing with him whenever I get the chance (he's a busy guy). he's actually also a pretty impressive bass player, too.
