I did not know that. It didn't have a graphite neck did it?

No it did not. Fender made less than 45 of them.


Right before Fender officially released them. Mark King took a few out on the road and from his playing the fingerboards were coming off along with a few other problems with the basses that he asked Fender not to release them.

I'd seen that clip before. I love how MK seems slightly bemused by the whole thing - and how he messes up at the very end! Still one of my favourite bassists ever.
