Mark King / L42 - US gigs

For anyone who's missed it Level 42 are coming to the US in July.

Tickets for their shows in D.C. (7/22) and NY (7/23) went on sale (Ticketbastard) this morning (3/26) but I'd expect that there will be more dates.

For anyone who hasn't seen MK in action, it's well worth a punt on a ticket as those who have seen him will attest.

Even though most of the set will likely be the more commercial stuff, I'm sure there will some of the older stuff too and even on the poppier stuff his playing, tone and control have to be see to be believed.....and I'm sure there will be at least one bass solo!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it!

Hi all,
Enjoy the gigs - MK is still a great player, & the band are still top notch.

Cheers,

I can't see them coming all this way for just two gigs.

On last years tour they did a fair amount of the old stuff, some nice instrumentals like 'Pursuit of accidents'.

Very cool. I may just have to make a trip down to NYC for that. I wonder who the drummer will be. I saw one listing which posted the lineup for the 2010 30th anniversary tour, but no drummer was mentioned. On the official Level 42 website there's a picture of some young guy with a baseball cap twisted around on his head (Level 42 goes gangsta?), so maybe he's the new drummer. Anyway, I was never much of a Gary Husband fan in a Level 42 context - he always seemed to be rushing things.

On April 8th, Mark King listed nine US shows on the Level 42 website.

UPDATE: A tenth US show (Las Vegas on August 1st) has just been added.

U.S. fans - come out and show them some love!

Yay! Haven't seen them in years. And the tickets are VERY affordable, too! I'll be at the Anaheim show on July 29th.

Always a great show! I'm going again this October, it will be my 6th L42 I believe. Amazing live band.

It's a shame Gary Husband won't be joining them for this tour, he's probably busy playing keys for John McLaughlin or something.

It's a shame there are no Canadian dates.
