Martin Turner Interview

Check out the cool Martin Turner Interview. I was a fan of Wishbone Ash as a kid in High School. I remember my brother getting the yellow live double record set. It strikes me know that they were kind of a Brit Greatful Dead. Anyways a great interview.

I dug them a lot as a kid too, they played around NYC a lot back then. I recently rented a documentary from Netflix about the making of Argus that was pretty cool.

That's fantastic.
So he was only using the neck pickup all that time?!
AMAZING tone, great melodic yet aggressive playing.

I just ran into this thread. Martin was my fave and biggest influence early on. I had no clue it was a P-bass on There's The Rub, and also surprised at the neck pickup bit. Brilliant interview; thanx for the link!

"Handy" has always been my fave, I think off the 1st album. Great melodic playing, nice jazzy double stops and that 'scat' singing...it was like no rock band I'd heard at that time. We used to cover a few of their tunes, but Martin's voice was the deal breaker.

My mates and I were HUGE Wishbone fans, and anybody else we told would always say, "Who?"
