Luckily I still have power, but the fascia in front of my house must be damaged somewhat because my bedroom is leaking....damned Sandy.

Oh man that's no good! I haven't been out to check damage. I live in St Mary's County and my house is surrounded by trees! Still have power, but these trees are scary!

Oh yeah, I have a couple of friends with massive trees surrounding their houses, and they were all very concerned. Glad nothing happened...but yes, scary nonetheless.

No problems at my house. Power blinked off and on once. Still have all my siding and shingles.

All good in Riva as well. Just some flicker. I think I got lucky.

Just joined the hollow body bass club. Very cool, very different.

We lost power for about 18 hours. No tree damage, very luckily. I have a few threats. There was a limb left over from the derecho that's hung up in the top of a tree. It moved, but it didn't come down. Unfortunately it seems to be hung up in a more precarious position now.

I'm in Columbia, and because it's so rare for us to lose power (all underground wiring), I came pretty close to not being prepared. But I was ready with a generator.

Can I have a number? I live in Sterling, VA. I've been taking some time off from being in a band, but I'm ready to start again. The last band I was in was called "Hellenback".

Just some shameless promotion. My band is playing tomorrow night, thanksgiving eve, at Hotel Charles in Hughesville, MD! We've played it the last 3 years and its always one heck of a party!

How far would/ do you travel for practice? Have an opportunity that I'm interested in, but it's kind of a hike. Don't really live in a hotspot area for musicians with similar tastes, it seems. Thanks. Hope you all have a great and safe holiday this week!

Yeah. If you want to play but there isn't anybody near you to play with then it looks like your decision is made. On the other hand I wouldn't go more 45 minutes to an hour each way.

I'd drive an hour each way if the band was right.
