In cleaning out the basement, I've noticed I have way too much packing material. I've got guitar boxes, bass boxes, boxes from speaker cabinets, a ton of packing peanuts and some bubble wrap.

I was going to recycle it with the trash next week but if anyone wants any of it, it's yours for the taking. Just stop by and pick it up. I'm in Uxbridge, MA. Just PM me and we can make arrangements.

I have it on the authority of a resident--Medfed. Out of towners tend to exaggerate. In Medford they don't drop the d (they aren't completely neanderthal) but the "or" sound, fuggetaboudit. The same is true of Sommerville. It's summavle, not somvle.

One town, Wabin, is spelled exactly like a MA native would pronounce it. I've often wondered if they have wiley wabbits in Wabin.

Ha - I lived in Medford in 1996. Just before rent in the area got crazy. Most people do pronounce it as you said, but there was a small percentage who proudly proclaimed their beloved city "Medfuh." (At least back then)

That was a fun area back then. Davis Square was doing pretty well. Haven't been round those parts in more than ten years now, though.
