MAURICE FITZGERALD ON A CIRRUS!!!!

I am sure that almost everyone here knows about the Peavey Cirrus and have heard/seen Maurice Fitzgerald killing on Fred Hammond's "I Want My Destiny (Live)". Here is another amazing clip featuring an amazing bassist playing an amazing bass:

I don't remember the particulars, but I'm pretty sure he held on to a custom bass that someone let him borrow, and then denied having it later and essentially swiped it from the guy in the end. More to follow I'm sure from more astute TB'ers.

that is messed up...

some folks are just plain fiscally irresponsible (among other things )...

I've had more than a couple of "borrow" deals go sour on me...

it's a great thing that Brad got his bass back...

I've lost a lot more than a Brubaker in terms of personal property to more than one shady character. One is now dead, so I don't think I can take the issue much further. Another, well...I'm just now learning to just "let it go"...live and learn...

LOL Gotta love that it was a gospel bassist who did that...he still spreadin' the "word"?

(BTW, no one take this as an intended knock on religious bassists, just hypocrites.)

It's cool...as a Christian bassist, I totally agree with you.

It's pretty sad, isn't it?

I kept waiting for a killer solo in there to showcase the bass playing, but it never happened. Barely a shot of the bass player.
Guess we have to be content with the groove mix and deal with some controversy.

He might be a great player, but I just can't get past the tone of the bass. This is just my personal taste, though. I'm not into that midrangey Smith/Peavey tone.

Don't want to offend anyone. Just in my opinion and in my taste, that tone just doesn't work.
