Like my avatar says, the bass player tends to be the mensch of the band.
From bands big to small, there seems to be a camaraderie among us bottom-dwellers.

There is a commonality to bass players that makes us all a family of sorts. I have encountered some that were imtimidating, super serious or just having a bad run but mean, nah. |

I'd like to think that we kicked their a$$ that night - I know I played my butt off... |

Back on topic, I've met a couple of famous bass players who I thought were egotistical and rude. I won't mention their names. They were the exception, though. All the others were cool. |

He was a sarod player at the Ali Akbar Khan music school. He was so stuck-up and snooty that I've kind of disliked Stu by association ever since even though I never met him... |

One night I got up the courage to ask him if he'd like a drink; "Yeah, a tripple bourbon". he says. That used up my whole nights money (nightclub prices). I never thought so highly of him after that.....That's mean, I think.

It was something like, Inez went up to Entwistle and said "You're awesome man." And Entwistle replied something along the lines of "Don't you think I ****in' know that?!" and walked haha |
