I adore MadM, first of all, shes has swiss ancestors...hehe! (for me as a swiss guy..interesting), she has red hair (meow), she plays P-Bass (man, thats sooo hot!!)
and I love her album, I ordered the following record a half year ago, but its still not available...

ah, yes..I saw her 4 years ago, while she played as support of a perfect circle, I didnt know her before! I liked the show of MadM much BETTER!!

anytime i think of girls playing basses, I think of MadM first!

I'm shocked at how much better a band she makes Smashing Pumpkins when they play live. It pains me to admit that as there haven't been many more nonchalantly cool bassists than D'arcy in the past 15 years. They seem so much steadier in this concert... ...I was gutted both times i saw them live at how sloppy their rythm section was. -maybe they just don't take so much heroin these days.

her Dad was a famous columist and was an outspoken very visible guy in the city. the legend is that Melissa met Hole backstage at Loolapalooza and learned to play bass after that. within a year she was in the band.

I used to play with former Me Mom and Morgentaller band members and they say she was hanging out with them in the late 80's early 90's so she's was as visible as her dad.

But i've never heard her play... oh well, she out grew this town!

My wide baby sat Melissa when she was four. Her father, Nick, was a friend of ours. He ran for premier in the famous Nov 76 elections that were won by the Parti Quebequois. My wife and I both worked on his campaign. My wife says her mother was a stunning woman.

Nick was a regular fixture at Winnie's pub in Montreal. After he died, they named the alley next to the pub after him. If ever in downtown Montreal, it's just off Crescent street between St.Catherine and de Maisonneuve.

We now return to our regular programming......

I think she is a real good musician overall - a solid bass player and I like her voice quite well. I'm not a big fan of her songwriting (from the three clips I heard at her website), the songs were OK, listenable but nothing special to me.

And yes, she is pretty.

Sorry for digging the thread out of the depths of TB... But I had to :-)

OK, I can agree she's not a virtuoso bassist or a phenomenal singer but her bass playing is very solid and matches what she does musically and her voice... Well her voice is incredibly sexy. As she is ;-) And I definitely love her solo album - the songs are just great. I think it can be called sth like "erotic stoner" ;-)

Now look: a hot bass-playing freckled redhead (I love ginger hair and freckles) with a beautiful sexy voice and quite an IQ (visit her website http://xmadmx.com, it's a great read)... A perfect woman, I say ;-)

I'm a worshipper of the Goddess Melissa!
