True-

He had a distinct and somewhat unique bass style. in addition was a trained conductor, classial musician and exceedingly talented producer.

Hat's off to Felix!

I read in a book today that he was shot by his wife, Gail Collins. She did a lot of album art for Mountain. I had always thought it was a drug deal thing....

PS-Like Mozart, he was clinically deaf when he died. Very sad. I wonder how Leslie West's ears are?

Felix is one of my heros. I will always G.A.S. for an EB-0 because of him. His death was a loss to the world of Bass and the world of Production.

R.I.P. my friend! It was a hell of a slieghride while it lasted.

She did art for them as well as lyrics. She wrote the lyrics to pretty well all of Felix's music including Strange Brew by Cream and great classics like Nantucket Sleighride. She was one of the best things as well as by far the worst thing to happen to Mountain.

Wow! Never knew any of this. RIP.

Leslie West opened for Joe Satriani a while back. Seemed to play and I suppose hear things just fine.

I knew Felix was a multi-talent, and I knew he had been gone (deceased) for a while. The rest in this thread is news to me. 25 years? Wow.

Did he play an EB-O, or was it that violin shaped Gibson like Jack Bruce plays now?

Great talent.
I have one LP he did and I think it is called "It's alright Ma"
... Put on your high heel sneakers, 'cause we're goin' out tonight. Yea!

His wife did no jail time for his murder. The trial was weird.
Been a long time ago but it hurt when I first heard about it.
RIP

The bass Bruce plays now was Pappalardi's bass. IIRC
