He had a distinct and somewhat unique bass style. in addition was a trained conductor, classial musician and exceedingly talented producer. |

I read in a book today that he was shot by his wife, Gail Collins. She did a lot of album art for Mountain. I had always thought it was a drug deal thing....
PS-Like Mozart, he was clinically deaf when he died. Very sad. I wonder how Leslie West's ears are? |

She wrote the lyrics to pretty well all of Felix's music including Strange Brew by Cream and great classics like Nantucket Sleighride. She was one of the best things as well as by far the worst thing to happen to Mountain.

Leslie West opened for Joe Satriani a while back. Seemed to play and I suppose hear things just fine.

Did he play an EB-O, or was it that violin shaped Gibson like Jack Bruce plays now? |

| | | | Great talent.
I have one LP he did and I think it is called "It's alright Ma"
... Put on your high heel sneakers, 'cause we're goin' out tonight. Yea!
His wife did no jail time for his murder. The trial was weird.
Been a long time ago but it hurt when I first heard about it.
RIP |
