Sign in to disble this ad
A great performance from Meshell with some extremely impressive and tasteful playing from Pino.
Do enjoy. If this is a repost, enjoy again...

Meshell Ndegeocello-vocals,bass
Pino Palladino-bass
James Watson-keyboards
Manu Katché-drums

Home Is Where The Hatred Is
Crazy and Wild
Butterfly (with Gretchen Parlato)

For a higher quality version with one more song (Chance) and much better audio, also search for this on Arte Live Web - unfortunately, my workplace keep on perfecting their firewall and I can't access it anymore, but will try to update after work.

That's groovin'. Looks like Pino is using Lakland Bob Glaubs now (I forget the new numerical name). I've seen a couple of videos of him with it.

Damn!

IF I could groove like either of these two I would be one happy bass player. They are simply OOZING groove. No amount of 'transcribing' will give this to you without absorbing it and making it your own. One day I hope to inspire with my groove like these two!!!

Other than Stewart Copeland, that may be the best hi-hat work I have ever heard. I know Manu Katche is a monster, but dang! He and Pino are just killing it on that opening number

My favourite version is the Esther Phillips recording. Not a "remix" though. Remixes are studio reworkings that utilise already existing recorded material.
