I like all of Metallica's work..including load/reload. It wasn't metal, but it wasn't all crap either. Some of the songs sucked, but some of them are good. I do agree that they changed after Cliff died, but not all their newer stuff sucks that much. I loved S&M, great combo of metal and symphony..i don't see why everyone hates it.

i can't imagine that many people were downloading their music anyway
I used napster to get out of stock/unavailable stuff. I bet napster actually inspired more people to buy albums than it did cost bands money. I do think Metallica has the right to earn cash from the songs they record, but I also think Lars is a whiny millionaire bitch as dancehallclasher put it. Whatever, I stopped caring after Justice anyway.

i am still, and will always be a met-fan. Maybe its because their first work i heard was from the black album is why. I mean I love ALL of their work, everything from kill em' all up to present. I don't care if they sued napster, although i am a napster user (500+ songs going strong) i understand them why they did. and they are still talented musicians. Metallica needs a new producer though, at least you could hear Cliff in the early stuff.

you should all know that originally, Metallica was a polka group fronted by Blondie and king Diamond. They did all love songs by Disney and had Dave Mustaine as a roadie.

actually you're completely wrong. they were a were a band before they had a band. there was james and lars and they found a front man then they move on to a four piece band with ron mcgovney on bass, james rhythm guitar, john mustaine, and lars. then they were on a bay area record label lp called the megaforce lp. someone please do actual reseach, please. no offense but this is the worst group of people to criticize metallica

Oh, I don't know, I think my Blondie/King Diamond theory had merit. Who's John Mustaine?

this is education enough

If you all want to know about metallica instead of mistakes from uneducated people. Go to www.encycmet.com and go to band history. NO offense to anyone

They are all on crack. I'm telling you blondie wrote Mechanix, Mcgoverny was the pizza delivery boy and Newsted is King Diamonds dog! You guys smoke too much. The main force behind the band was Joey MacIntire, who felt the pop world needed new heroes.
