The only that come to mind are Steve Harris of Iron Maiden and David Ellefson, ex-Megadeth bassist. Did I miss any?

Do I count?

Most of the time I'm a metal bassist and I rip my fretless Fender P out any chance I get. It's black on black and looks and sounds metal enough for me.

Noone seems to mind - I've auditioned with it and jammed with it with metal bands and I'm yet to be asked to remove it in favour of my usual ESP F104.

Then again, I've yet to be asked to take the ESP off when jamming 70's Rock N Roll tunes either.

Duke Erickson from Metal Church
Frank Bello from Anthrax (though he has a new sig model out which is more Aerodyne than Precison)
Mac from Acid Reign
Frank Watkins from Obituary
Joey Vera from Armored Saint
Bob Daisley (played on most of Ozzy's albums)
Steve DiGeorgio from Death, Sadus, Testament and more used to play a fretless P
Mike Kirkland from Prong

there are loads and loads more

Yep, newsted uses Ps in recordings. Bob Daisley from ozzy, Geezer Buttler from Sabbath. Theres this one dude who recorded an album with dio too, who played a p bass, and he had a sweet angry p bass tone.

If it's from early Dio, it would be Jimmy Bain. Bob Daisley enjoys his old P-basses. He has an awesome tone and a pedigree a mile long, which speaks volumes for his talent.
