I don't think that a Rickenbacker bass (or guitar for that matter) is a variation on any of these. How about hollow bodies (I know, this is mainly guitar)?

3 inches of blood

the (most excellent) bass player for 3 inches of blood (a power/viking metal band) plays an old school red fender p-bass.
