There is a local black metal band that the bassist uses a Fender Jazz 5 String.

I play death/grind and I am in the market for a 4-String Jazz.

Eerie Von (ex Danzig) comes to mind and when Juan Alderete was John Alderete in Racer X, he ripped that Jazz up like nobody's business.

Not sure about the guy from fear factory, it's either a p or a j. It is a five string fender though.

Christian Olde Wolbers-5 string jazz

The old bassist for BLS-5 string jazz

Brian Richie from The Sword-4 string MIM jazz with quarter-pounds and BAII

As stated before, Jason Newsted-Sadowsky 4 & 5 strings

Geezer Butler used them when recording a lot

...adn Rob Trujillo uses signature model Fernandes and Zons, not Jazz Basses.

His basses utilize the standard J pickup pattern. Maybe I'm the only one who notices such things.

Oh, I know that, but I was talking actual Jazz bass/Jazz bass copies.

If you've seen the "Show your J-Bass" threads around here, you'd see where I'm coming from.

Geddy Lee
Juan Alderete
Martin Mendez
Les Claypool
Tim Commerford

Um . . . that's all I can think of. Only Mendez and Commerford use J-basses exclusively. Geddy has his Ric, Wal, and Steinberger, Claypool has his crazy Carl Thompsons, and Alderete has any number of hacked up Fenders. What's funny is Alderete's main bass today is a Geddy Lee signature Jazz, based on Geddy Lee's main bass today.

Byron Stroud (Fear Factory/ Strapping Young Lad) plays a 5 string custom shop jazz.
