mic todd (coheed and cambria) POST heroin

Sign in to disble this ad
did anyone else realize how much more amazing he got when he was off the H?

no world for tomorrow had its flaws (notably no josh eppard), but mic was ALL over the place. he finally saw the light and switched to J basses and turned his mids up a smidge. his tone is pretty solid now.

and then theres this:

holy crap****

anyone else?

Never listened to them for longer then 5 minutes the whiney vocals kill the rest of the song for me. So I wouldnt know. Same reason why I hate avenged sevenfold..

i DO hate avenged sevenfold quite a bit, but theres a lot more to coheed than claudios vocal range.

i shared your sentiment at first, but i was quickly persuaded otherwise. try to get through the song "in keeping secrets on silent earth". that really changed it for me. up until that point, id only heard the first 2 big commercial singles and i didnt get it. 30 seconds into that opening track and i was hooked.

They take a little of time to grow on you. But having said that, I was HOOKED when I bought Good Apollo I - and the Spector tone was heavenly!

Good Apollo II tone is great - is it a jazz or precision?? But it sits nicely in the mix. The new album, it's a bit too distorted for my liking..

But yes, fantastic bass player and one of my main influences!

he switched to J basses. he'd always had that geddy sitting in the background, but as far as i can tell he's running all fender gear live now. amps and all.

on the record, no telling, could be a mix of P's and J's but it doesnt sound like a spector. i could never get into the spector sound. wayyy too scoopy and empty. he was hardly in the mix. his tone in delirium trigger wasnt bad, but he was hardly in IKSOSE3 mix wise.

black rainbow did nothing for me. i think pennie went and ruined them. hes too mechanical for that music. too bad eppard couldnt stay clean AND stay in the band.
