Anyone know what bass Mr. Cera is playing here? Apparently he's playing bass in a band called Mister Heavenly.

He couldn't separate his fingers on his left hand and played with one finger on his right too (which I like to call the "hook and hoof" technique).
Michael Cera.. well he's been playing for all of well.. since they shot the movie earlier this year, but now he's touring as a "pro". I like music that's played by musicians personally.

A very cool 32.5" scale (sounds like a 34" scale)
| Makes absolutely no sense. |

And I personally don't mind either way when actors start music careers. I think Michael Cera is touring less as a "pro" musician and more as "Michael Cera with a bass in some band." I bet he doesn't stand there watching his left hand the whole time he plays like most beginning bass players do, at least.

Also just because the movie was released in august doesn't mean that they filmed it this year. I'm pretty sure shooting wrapped on it a year before it was released. And it was in the works since the days when Michael Cera was still on Arrested Development. Check your facts before you dog on someone or something.

They sound pretty damn good to me! And Michael Cera doesn't sound like he doesn't know what he's doing either.

I do know that Michael Cera has been playing guitar since he was a kid and I'm pretty sure he plays piano as well. When he did Nick and Norahs Infinite Playlist he had to play bass for that as well and said that he wasn't very good at playing it but enjoyed doing so. He didn't play bass prior to that filming so he's been playing since at least 2007.
Unfortunately I'm a nerdy kid with shaggy hair who plays bass, and I've heard a lot of comparisons so I read an interview once.

Just because someone's been an actor doesn't mean they can't be a musician too. If I'd been acting for the last couple years of my life, I'd be an actor and a good bassist. (Probably have money too.) Unfortunately, I'm only one of those but that doesn't mean people can't be both. |
