Michael Manring Autograph

Back in 1994 I went to a Michael Hedges show (R.I.P.) at a small club where Michael Manring was supporting. The Feb. 1994 Bass Player Magazine with him on the cover had just come out so I took it and got him to autograph it. I just found it and thought everyone might get a kick out of seeing it.



It was a very unique show and Manring was very cordial.

Very cool. Manring's playing on the Hedges song "The Funky Avacado" was my first insipiration to play fretless.

It would be easy to assume that MM would be aloof and rather full of himself, but from all accounts, he's just the opposite: modest, friendly and self-deprecating... as evidenced by the added mustache and soul-patch!

I must admit that my initial scan of your post left me thinking that Manring may have passed away recently!

I had to read it a second time to see that the RIP was in reference to Michael Hedges.
