I was there!

The camera is about 2 feet from my right ear. What an incredible day. I wish I could actually remember everything that he did. It was one jaw dropper after another. I left Bran's House in a stupor.

I've seen a few vids on YT where just a solo bassist plays for a few people. What's the story here? Friends of the artist?

Sometimes

Usually at a house concert, one of the members of the audience (usually the homeowner) knows the artist or friend of a friend. In this case, while Michael and I had met several times, it was my friendship and prior concerts with Trip Wamsley and Steve Lawson that helped land the show. Michael had just finished a tour with John Gorka in my town and I got him to do a Sunday afternoon show and take a later flight. He let his fan mailing list know of the show and we were packed like sardines!

He is a great person in every regard.

I've been messing around with bass for a couple years, but am still a noob to the bass world. This is the first I've really heard of Michael Manring.

I'm blown away, to say the least.
