I was told they tried to rename it to "angels night" to take some of the bad connotation out of it and try to get kids to quit tearing up neighborhoods. I don't think it took though.

Not really, but how much?
Also, find the facebook page Detroit Bass Players and "like" it.
You could mention it there as well.

Shamless gig plug...I'll be at the Hamlin Pub in Shelby Twp Saturday night.
Gigging my Sadowsky NYC vintage 4 & Sadowsky Will Lee sig 4.
Rig will be my Genz Benz Streamliner 900 with a BagEnd 410 co-ax.
So, if anyone is around swing on in and have a cold beverage or 4!

Can I get a "hell yaayuh" for permanent residency? Now I can annoy the same neighbors for years!

I am selling a Mesa M-2000 in a Mesa 2x12 combo cabinet if anyone is interested. It's up in the classifieds and I can offer a decent deal to someone who is localish so I don't have to pack and ship it.

Mike, have you played the TH500. Unless you are rock in' an 810, pretty darn close minus about 45 pounds with rack. I'm totally digging the Th500.

Edit: I see you are now using a Bag End 410. So, that is unfortunately 8ohms, relatively low efficiency, and since it weighs a ton anyway, the DB750 or 751 is probably a good choice. That should sound killer, although I wouldn't want to schlep that around!

New MI bassist here (Midland) - moved here in October of last year from VA and just dusted off the bass and trying to get back into the swing of things...Subbing to try and catch wind of some good local(ish) shows now that summer is rolling around. Cheers!

Cool. Lamont Johnson is teaching my son. He's already doing stuff I've never been able to do.

Annnnnnd back on thread.......originally from NY State...then Flint / Burton, then Superior Twp (Ypsilanti / Ann Arbor), and now Detroit.

Hey gang, I just moved to the Troy area from Baltimore and I could use your bass-related advice!

What are the best music stores in the Detroit area? I'm looking to get a bass fixed up.

H&B for sure. More like Groesbeck and 16 or 18 Mile.

There are 3 or 4 Guitar Centers, depending on how far you are willing to drive. The Southfield store and the Allen Park store both have fairly good stock. I don't spend much time at Westland or East Detroit.

There is a Music Go Round in a plaza at 14 Mile Rd and John R. Not a lot of stock but some pretty good stuff last time I was there. Had a Peacey Cirrus and a Fender P-Deluxe.

Music Castle on Woodward Ave. near 12 Mile in Royal Oak.

Another vote for Elderly. Their repair department is world famous for good reason.
