Mike Watt and the Missingmen touring behind new album

I hope this doesn't come off as spam. I know we have a decent number of Watt fans here and he doesn't get much publicity.

The good Sir Watt is finally bringing out a new album, and I'm excited as hell. It's a bass/guitar/drums trio this time, with short songs (sound familiar?). He says he was inspired when reviewing Minutemen songs for the documentary We Jam Econo. The tour runs from March 10-April 30 and hits Chicago the night before my birthday.

Tour dates and album info here. http://www.hootpage.com/hoot_hyphenated-man-na2011.html

Two whole days off? I guess there wasn't much between MN, KS, and CO to fill in those dates. It's a shame he couldn't fit Cincinnati in there somewhere, but I might make the trip to Indy or Cleveland.

Forget James Brown, Watt is the hardest working man in show business.

It's just great that such a wonderful bassist has overcome his health issues and is able to get out there and do what he loves. I look forward to hearing the album, too.

Especially since James Brown's been dead for about four years....

He looks good nowadays. I thought that big cheech and chong looking mustache he was wearing a few years back made him look old.

I'll be at the Mercury Lounge show April 4. Been a fan since the Minutemen days. Seen him several times and he always brings it.

TT's is still around? Wow, I played there in 1987 (ouch, that's a long time ago)--my most memorable gig to date.

The new album is really excellent, my favorite Watt album in a long time. I'm jacked to hear it live.
