There's some pretty good modern bands out there like silversun pickups, kings of leon, muse, etc. But chris wholstenholme of muse is the only modern bassist i've heard that impressed me Any one know any talented modern bassists out there?

Rancid's Matt Freeman is one of my favs, definently one of my favs how he climbs up and down that neck :P

and IDK if THe Descendants are considered "modern" but Karl from the Descendants is SICK, i kinda cover one of his songs in my video

I think Nikki from the SSPU's has some really cool things going on. she's not blistering fast or technical, but she writes a DAMM groovy bassline. Her tone is the best too

SSPUs are definitely the best band going, IMO. Here's hoping THE MAN doesnt ruin them
