My parents tell me how I should listen to the Moody Blues as an inspiration; they say the bassist's excellent.

What's your opinion on their bassist?

We cover three of their songs, "I'm Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band", "Tuesday Afternoon", and "The Story in Her Eyes",(my favorite) good basslines. Good musicians, check them out.

John Lodge is a great pop/rock bassist. Kinda like Paul McCartney, but a little more aggressive.

I would have to say Ride my SeeSaw is my favorite.

Great bass line.

Try to find this Double-Disk, it will make you sit for about 2 hours saying "Hey I know this song."

My older brother forced me to listen to tons of Moodies when I was younger. I appreciate it, now--EGBDF and Seventh Sojourn, in particular, are fantastic albums.

As much as I dig Lodge's playing and the band's gorgeous harmonies, the best thing about the Moodies was probably Justin Hayward's guitar. Outside of George Harrison, I don't think there's ever been a better pop guitarist.

He's just a bassist in a rock'n'roll band...

Good player...very dynamic on "I'm Just A Singer..."

And I think he sang on a couple of songs..."Sitting At The Wheel" was one but he sacrificed some on the bassplaying (though I like the bassline rhythm anyway)

That just sounds funny.

The vision of you brother saying a phrase like:

"You will listen to the passive, tranquil, progressive sounds of this band or I will kick your arse!"

This was all during the summers, when we would have to shovel the gigantic pile of mulch that our parents bought every year to spread on the garden. I'd bring my little boombox outside and crank it. In return for having to sit through the Moodies, I forced my brother to listen to Master of Puppets and Van Halen's Fair Warning.
