I don't now if this is the right place for this but I just got done reading the Krist Novoselic Thread. I wonder who do you believe is the most overrated bands.

1) Nirvana
2) Aerosmith (post Pump)

Nirvana has a place in history. But greates band of all time I think not.

I miss the old Aerosmith. I think they have become more of a studio band the last 10 or so years. Texas

Most overrated band?

I'd have to say definitely Nirvana and things like Angels and Airwaves.

I mean I have to admit Blink 182 was actually good it was very funny pop music.

But then they got all emo and went on to their projects.

I do actually believe most the bands already named are very good bands. Overrated, probably, but still very good bands. I'd have to go with Fall out Boy though, there music is appealing to many people, but people who say they are the best, I think not.

Finally! Someone else with the same opinion. I was almost run out of a band for making the simple statement that I didn't really care for Zep or the Stones. I quit 2 weeks later.

Notice: I never said they "sucked" or anything derogatory. Flame on.

Van Halen. Eddie is an amazing player, but past a few songs I don't really see what he did that was so influential other than spawn a generation of people that think that the guitar is the end-all be-all of rock'n'roll.

1. Pink Floyd
2. Led Zeppelin

I know I answered, but I also want to try to be the first person to say something like "What is the point of this thread? Why do you have to bring everyone else down? Come on man, you can have your opinions but is this really constructive?"

I agree with the Nirvana thing.
But Aerosmith? Overrated? Hell, they've been proving they are anything but since God was in diapers. Even post-Pump. They have influenced some of todays, and yesterdays, greatest bands. They must be doing something right!?
But, in the same breath, I'm gonna throw The Doors into the mix. I
think their music is boring. OK, Jim's lyrics do send a powerful message in some instances, but everything else about them is barely average. <----- Thats gonna bring me some fire I'm sure.

I know a lot of people might disagree with me on this but I always thought that Metallica is really overrated.
