Oteil Burbridge.........., he seems to do well in a wide variety of playing situations, and I also enjoy the scatting which justs adds to his versatility.
I'd say Dave Larue takes it. Not only does he play a multitude of styles, he is convincing! He never sounds like a "metal bassist trying to play funk" or a "classical bassist trying to play jazz", he just naturally seems to fit whatever he decides to play.
