Does anyone know who Mr. X is who played on the bass masterpiece Album version of space cowboy by Jamiroquai?
It wasn't Stuart Zender he was actually upset that they got someone else to do it for the Album

There are also some votes for Andrew Levy(IIRC, played on the first Jamiroquai record). I have seen nothing that offers definitive proof on this question.

Those fills and everything. It reminds me of All Long the watchtower's bass line (which was played by Hendrix himself)

i like that version better as well. the zender version is okay, but holy crap that bassist is SMOKIN. those licks and fills are insane.
my guess goes to randy hope-taylor, he pretty crazy and has worked on later stuff (dynamite album). |

| | | | It's not Levy, neither is it RHT, even Jay Kay confesses he can't remember the name of the bass player, according to Paul Turner (Jamiroquai's newest bass player).

At first, I was thinking man, this Zender guy really smokes on the bass. Then I found out it wasn't even him. What a letdown. I still like Zender but Space Cowboy (album version) has the best basslines of any Jamiroquai songs ever written IMO.

i cant find a live version of the album version anywhere, its a shame, id love to see the album version bridges live.. a lot more musical and imo better than the single version.
