"The Music Lesson" by Victor Wooten

I just finished this book, and I've got to recommend it to anyone who's grown cynical or disconnected to Music..

I went from thinking it was a load of bullcheese in the first chapter to finding inspiration every couple of pages by the time I was halfway through the third chapter. I don't care about how much is true, or how ridiculous some people might find some of the stories... my own view on the book is that it's too absurd NOT to be true!

Anyway, it lifted me up when I though I had nothing left for Music, and Music has nothing left for me, and I have to pass along the sense of wonderment I got from reading it and how much more I've been playing, having rediscovered some of those mystical qualities of tones and sound that send shivers down your spine and when you can't help but smiling when you hear the perfect chord, or whatnot..

Anyway, just my two cents.

I purchased that book and had it signed by the author in person back when it came out.

I read it, but I'm still not sure how I feel about it even 5 years later.

I absolutely love this book! If it's true, that's really insane and cool. If it's not, Victor Wooten is as good a writer as he is a bass player! It's become one of my favorite books. I like reading chapters of it randomly at times. The next time I see the Flecktones, I hope to get to ask Victor about it, and especially about Michael.
