Awesome gig! I've never seen Aubrey play on a big stage, looks like she really used the space and had a lot of presence. Her tone sounded great! Was it her own rig, or was there a house rig or something? Glad they ran sound with the bass sitting nice and clear in the mix. Congratulations!

Wow, this is awesome! Congrats to you and your daughter. I know how proud I was of my little girl when she played bass at a local rock camp last year. I can't imagine how you must feel about your daughter getting to play with Keith Urban on national TV!

Thanks!! All those years of dancing school helped for sure!! For gear...They hooked her up with a choice of two Fenders (Jazz--I think I said Deluxe earlier)...she picked the red one. They had a wireless set up and tuner etc...and it was a Markbass amp....she just told them what she used and they had it all ready for her which made traveling very easy!! Everyone there was top-notch....they really gave them the rock star experience from pick-up to drop-off!!

I was wondering if it was her own bass - I've seen her vids with a red jazz, but I thought the headstock was painted too and there was an ashtray bridge cover on hers... glad the rig worked so nicely for her!

Unfortunately, she has gone over to the dark side! She made 7th grade jazz band as the guitar player. Oh well. Not many girl guitar players her age either.

Congrats!

I wish I had known about the organization two years ago...my opportunities are gone now.

Thumbs up

She did a great job! The band sounded and looked great! When she starts checking out Music Schools have her get in touch if she wants to come to Nashville and study at Belmont.

Here's a follow-up article and video that is in today's Boston Herald.
It's been so much fun watching Keith on American Idol this week. He really is so nice. He sent each of the kids in the band a personalized hand-written note (which we've already framed)

Aubrey also just became an official endorsing artist for "Gruv Gear" (as of today) and will do a CD track recording on upright next week for a local singer. She's doing a lot of writing and recording on her own too...so it's been a very exciting month!!

Thanks to all of you for all the support and kind words. She knows she has a long way to go, but she's on a good path and the bass community has been so wonderful to her. It's been amazing and I'm so glad it's her instrument!

Thanks Tomydacat & T. Alan

@Pocketgroove just to keep in mind if you're in school...College students or graduates ages 21-25 can be paid counselors for the Grammy Camps--you get to meet some great people and I believe they attended all the classes, lectures and concerts etc....and they are in NY & LA
