Name a bassist that everyone likes.

It seems that no matter who or how successful the bassist is someone will have "something" bad to say about them. I understand not everyone appreciates the same things. But even when we are discussing some of the "greats" someone always thinks they are grossly overrated in some way. Can anyone name a bassist who doesn't get negative coments?

Good Luck!

True enough, but I've heard many bad things about his singing, and the OP was referring to any negative thing about said person, if I understand correctly.

I'd say James Jamerson, John Paul Jones, perhaps John Entwhistle.

But I'd question saying Jaco, many people don't care for his music.

NOOOO I honestly love Geddy's singing! And to top it off he was/is tapdancing with pedals and playing bass. But he is crazy...

I've never met a bassist who's had a bad thing to say about John Deacon's playing, writing, or the quality of his equipment.

Paul McCartney gets a lot of deserved respect. Simple, but solid.
