I was just watching this video from yesterday's Obama inauguration concert and who do I see holding it down but NATHAN EAST!!?!?!?
Obama events have some seriously awesome bass. Before he walked out in Chicago for his electoral victory speech, they were playing "Higher and Higher." Jamerson, now East, who's next? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATr9qrbg7TU
You can see him at 3:47. And be sure to use the high-def mode so he is more audible! |

His name pops up on a lot of stuff I've got- Clapton, Whitney Houston, Roberta Flack, Chaka Kahn, Anita Baker. Plus he played on a lot of Kenny Rogers' awful '80s and '90s hits (but don't hold it against him)

jte | He also reads music like nobody's bizness.. The story I read about him was that he got his break after auditioning for a big time producer and nailing the charts to perfection...the rest is history...
I saw him live perform with Eric Clapton at Madison Square Garden..he played the song "Cant Find My Way Home" on the EUB and sang the tune....just amazing... |

He's been doin' a lot of pop stuff also here in Italy, along with Tony Levin is the bassist that most frequently flies here to work...
Anyway, he's always great in any musical situation, but to listen to some of his best lines, one should definitely check out Fourplay (and Clapton of course...) |
