I've done a lot of studio sessions and you can tell right away when someone ain't cuttin' it! And I don't mean skills wize but in their attitude and demeanor. Also in their promptness and unwillingness to adapt! Quincy called it 'divatude'! I can recall a really good guitarist demand to be paid before he even played a note! |

Other than playing ability, that's what makes a professional. And he got some of the best producers and artists to comment on that video. David Foster has created I don't know how many #1 hits and platinum albums! Same goes with Quincy Jones, Phil Collins and Lionel Ritchie! And Greg Phillingaines! What a powerhouse group of guys.

He talked about how the other bass players there had better chops than he did, but he had studied Stevies songs etc, so it came down to getting the job done vs just fancy chops. I am sure his attitude had a lot to do with this as well, NATHAN WATTS, BTW IS MY OTHER INSPIRATION.

Nope, just was sharing a story about another Nathan whom I like and trying to make a connection, guess I did a poor job since this thread is about Mr Nathan East.
