yeah. i had been avoding them for a while since they got bashed a lot on TB and every other noob in the FX forum asks about Chris' gear. But, a buddy of mine suggested them to me and said I would like them. I really, really do (and i'm not much of a hard-rocker).

Chris really is a great bassist and i really like his use of effects. I really like the singer's voice too, i do think he sounds like a little like Thom Yorke (Radiohead), but I don't think they're a Radiohead rip-off. In fact I think the singer sounds a lot more like Jeff Buckley (whom I love).

I'm really getting into their stuff, for now I just have their 2 newest albums. Anyway, I just wanted to let my guilty pleasure be known. Now I wanna go to one of their shows.

Muse are really great - and an absolutely amazing live act - here's a great clip of them at the Rock-Am-Ring festival.

Matt Bellamy on his Manson guitars is wonderful, and the clip explains why he has his cabs set up with the speaker lead connector on the side rather than the back, huh? hahahahaha

I used to be really into them like a few years ago

Their last album was mediocre compared to their older stuff

just saw them at fujirock...
really pro band, great playing.
cool bass tones, too...was a little dissapointed to see a roadie doing the effects switching(i was watching from the monitor position) but i suppose that frees him up to entertain on the large scale....not an easy task.
cool rack of marshall pres, being driven like mad.
not my kind of music, but impressive production level and playing without a doubt.
more power to 'em!

The drummer of my band is really into them. Origin of Symmetry is one of my favorite albums in my collection.

I really dig them! so much sonic space covered and ideas brought into play for a band let alone a trio!

Pretty sweet vid. My wife has been into them for a while, and I usually don't mind when we listen to them in her car. I'd go see em live...looks like it'd be a good show.

I used to like muse, the first two albums were pretty good but anything after that just really annoys me. His voice is too whiney for my liking and he doesn't have much variation to his voice. I saw them the other week at Benicassim festival and i was quite bored through the entire show. I love effects but both matt and chris were using so many effects that the entire bass end of the sound seemed to have been swallowed by a big swirling synthy mess. All the newer songs were bland and uninspiring. The one or two older tunes they played i did enjoy but then one of them was a cover... Not impressed at all.

The new album had wayyyy too much streamlined electropop on it, but "Knights of Cydonia" was absolutely golden...and the video is a work of art!

The two albums previous are great. I love this band. Chris is a great bass player.

Smile

Yeah, the last album (black holes and revalations) wasnt as good as the rest, but it's still something different to whats being played on the radio all the time and they have to be one of the best live rock bands in the world today, i saw them at wembley back in june and its not just the music that is brilliant, the lights and the whole feel of the gig was amazing as well. 1st post!

While I tought jazzfolks are rather open-minded towards all kind of music.

To the point. I tried to listen to them, but I couldn't. As already mentioned in this thread, their vocalist just sounded a little bit too whiney to me. Same goes for the Radiohead, really like their music but their vocalist is just not my cup o'tee. Still, Chris is the man. Hysteria has one of the most awesome sounding intro _ever_ and I can totally understand why people are into them.

They've become one of my guilty pleasures in recent years. Probably the best thing on the radio these days.

I saw him last night at Madison Square Garden... he was awesome. He played a Rick for a few songs in the beginning and then played a bunch of different Jazz basses. He has a great tone and really cool stage presence

I've been into them for a while and was able to see them at The Forum in Los Angeles. They are great live and have so much energy. I like the bass to sound more like a bass rather than a synth -especially when using a Ric-but it works for them.
